I am Sarah, a qualified Therapeutic Counsellor and registered member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP). I work using the Person-Centred Approach which means I believe that each and every person is innately deserving of respect and are the experts in themselves. Through facilitating a safe, non-judgemental and understanding relationship, I work alongside you to explore your difficulties and empower you to discover your own solutions – at your own pace.
People can seek out counselling for a vast variety of reasons but at the core usually resides a pain which hasn’t passed. We might know clearly where this pain stems from, or we might also not! Counselling offers a space for you to put down the weight of everything and start to unpack it – exploring the things which you’ve carried for so long and empower you to gain back your power over them – becoming more than what has happened – becoming you. Our identity is a statement about who we are and how we want to be seen by others. Counselling can help you discover, grow and embrace your truest version of your self.
Talking with someone can help you move from confusion to clarity and from stuckness to fluidity/movement, as well as help you improve whatever it is you bring as a difficulty to therapy with the intention of change.
Why Well Water?
The well is a source of magic & life but also the depths of the unknown. To me, counselling can feel like drawing water from a well – sometimes we can see the water below, sometimes we have no clue as to how deep it runs. Looking down into the well we may hear and see echoes of the past but right at its base life itself runs freely… if we can only reach it.
To have the courage and support to delve into ourselves brings us closer to our vitality and authenticity – our own life giving source.
I have a wide range of experience prior to qualifying as a counsellor having previously worked in social care supporting adults with learning disabilities & complex needs in the community; supporting older people to remain in the own homes & supporting those in residential settings to retain independence. I have worked in mental health exclusively since 2018 in both a private clinic, and within the NHS since 2019. I am also a registered graduate member of the British Psychological Society (BPS).
I work with individual adults aged 18+ and am offering face-to-face sessions. Please do get in touch for a free, no-obligation 15-minute consultation call for you to ask me any questions which might help you decide if we are a good fit.
